Vanessa + Dorian ::Lavender Fields::

Dorian and Vanessa are the definition of pure delight and style. They are surrounded by such a bright beautiful light when they are together, that this sunny session was so fitting for them. It’s no wonder that Vanessa is one of Cricket’s good friends. Refer to the wedding below for all of Cricket’s amazingness. It really is true that birds of a feather flock together.  They renew my faith that genuinely good hearted wonderful people exist.

After spending some time with Dorian and Vanessa I was reminded of this poem by Pablo Neruda. Their love is one that poems like this were inspired by.

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

  • Celia - Crissy, these photos are fabulous. Amazing work, as always. And I just have to comment on your intro–Charles and I love Pablo Neruda and we’re having excerpts of “Epithalamium” read at our wedding. See you soon!
